DAY 38 ~ September 30th

After a 6 week long unit, today is the day for our Unit 2 TEST. Students have been working hard on their Study Guide project, and their Unit Packets, which are BOTH due TODAY.

GOOD LUCK!!

DAY 37 ~ September 29th

Students came into the Math Lab and worked on their SuccessMaker sessions. Afterwards, they continued to work on their Unit 2 SG project.

TOMORROW - Unit 2 Test, along with Unit 2 SSS Packet & Unit 2 SG Project is due

DAY 36 ~ September 26th

As students came into class, they started right away checking over each other's Section 5 - Operations with Scientific Notation. Then we moved into our last section, Section 6 - Multi-step Equations.

DAY 35 ~ September 25th

Students went right to work on checking each other's Section 4 - Exponent Rules, then went into Section 5 - Operations w/Scientific Notation. Whatever was not finished in class, was assigned for homework.

DAY 34 ~ September 24th

Students began class checking each others first 3 sections of their Study Guide Project. Today's benchmark was to work on Section 4 - Exponent Rules. Again, if they did not finish it in class, then the rest is for homework.

DAY 33 ~ September 23rd

Students were given their Unit 2 Study Guide Project. Today's benchmark was to work on the first 3 sections - Classify Real Numbers, Radicals, and Converting. If they did not finish in class, then it was assigned for HW.

DAY 32 ~ September 22nd

As you know, Mondays are Math Lab day. Students have an assigned Quiz: Multi-step Equations waiting on them as they come in, then they will work on their SuccessMaker sessions.

Tomorrow students will begin their Study Guide Project for Unit 2, and then Unit 1 for the Q1 Exams.
Unit 2 Test will be given on September 30th.

DAY 31 ~ September 19th

Students practiced and practiced and practiced some more over multi-step equations. I'm excited to see how they perform on Monday for their quiz over this objective.

Wednesday, September 17, 2014

DAY 30 ~ September 18th

Students continued to work on solving various types of multi-step equations - DP, CLT, VBS.

Each class was assigned a specific set of problems for homework.

DAY 29 ~ September 17th

Last night students watched the video: Multi-Step Equations.

Today, we spent the entire class time walking through the various types of multi-step equations that they will encounter:

DP -  Distributive Property
CLT - Combine Like Terms
VBS - Variables on Both Sides

I assigned each class period a set of homework problems in their Equation Packet.

Tuesday, September 16, 2014

DAY 28 ~ September 16th

Students came to class watching the video: Distributive Property & Simplifying Expressions

In class, we practiced that objectives and assigned problems for homework.

Tonight's video: Multi-Step Equations

There is a video: Two-Step Equations that students can look over when they need help.

DAY 27 ~ September 15th

Early Release Day

Students went to their Math Lab today, and worked on a Benchmark Quiz - Operations with Scientific Notation and Exponent Rules. After the quiz, they worked on their SuccessMaker session.

HW: Video - Distributive Property & Simplifying Expressions

Friday, September 12, 2014

DAY 26 ~ September 12th

Today students reviewed over ALL five exponent rules along with applying them to multiplying/dividing/adding/subtracting scientific notation.
Their homework this weekend is to STUDY for their QUIZ on Monday (EARLY RELEASE DAY).

DAY 25 ~ September 11th

We discussed the process in Adding and Subtracting Scientific Notation. Assigned certain numbers on their blue worksheet for homework.

Wednesday, September 10, 2014

DAY 24 ~ September 10th

We checked over the homework solutions over multiplying/dividing scientific notation. Today, class time was spent showing mastery to the objective: multiplying and dividing scientific notation. Classes were sent home with a few problems to practice over.

Tuesday, September 9, 2014

DAY 23 ~ September 9th

1st period began class with their presentations over their video reflections.

Last night students were to watch the video titled: Scientific Notations. When students came into class they had an understanding on how to multiply/divide/add/subtract scientific numbers. In class, we reviewed the process for multiplying and dividing scientific numbers, then assigned each class specific problems to finish for homework (golden rod color worksheet).

Friday, September 5, 2014

DAY 22 ~ September 8th

Mondays are spent in the Math Lab to work on their individualized SuccessMaker program. After they complete their session, students will log into USA TestPrep to complete their Benchmark Assessment over the FIVE Exponent Rules.

1st period will present their video reflections tomorrow in class.

HW: Watch - Scientific Notation video

Wednesday, September 3, 2014

DAY 21 ~ September 5th

Today, we discussed ALL FIVE exponent rules. Students were put into groups to work on their video reflection presentations. Then spent the rest of class time practicing all five of the rules. Students will be given a benchmark quiz over the five exponent rules on Monday.
STUDY ~ STUDY ~ STUDY

DAY 20 ~ September 4th

UNIT 1 TEST CORRECTIONS are DUE!!!

Today, we spent additional time in class practicing and practicing and practicing on the FOUR exponent rules that we have been discussing in class.
Tonight, students will be watching the last exponent rule video: Dividing Monomials.

DAY 19 ~ September 3rd

Students came to class after watching the video: Multiplying Monomials. This video added TWO additional exponent rules ~ Multiplying and Power to Power. After we spent some time reviewing and discussing the FOUR exponent rules so far, students practice and practiced, and then they practiced some more over those objectives.
UNIT 1 Test Corrections are DUE tomorrow!!!

DAY 18 ~ September 2nd

We discussed two exponent rules from the video they watched over the holiday weekend: Zero/Negative Exponents. Students spent the remainder of class practicing those 2 exponent rules.
Tonight, students are to watch the video titled: Multiplying Monomials.

UNIT 1 Test Corrections are due THURSDAY!!!
